Or you probably have created one yourself. Maybe in Toluna?

Toluna is a survey site, where your opinion counts and its partners are PAYING for your opinion. They need your feedback for their further development of the company. The same revenue that comes from these partners, Toluna is sharing with you. A rewarding company that pays you for most of the things you do in there.

Today I decided to turn my focus especially in this ever-growing survey site everyone is talking about.

Is Toluna legitimate? This and all you need to know. Let’s jump in!

Is Toluna Legitimate or a Scam?

The fact that this program is over 17 years of age now, tells a lot about it.

Founded in 2000 by Toluna Group of Frederic Charles-Petit, Toluna surveys site is legitimate, totally safe and operates through over 86 countries.

In addition to that, Toluna has a strict and effective Privacy Policy which protect its customers.

Up to this day, Toluna numbers over 13 million members worldwide. Thirteen million. Wow.

A massive number, indeed. They can’t all be wrong, can they?

How Toluna Works

A survey site that gets paid by its partners who need the opinion of the public worldwide for a certain product, and mostly for the new ones launched in the market.

A good way this to know in which direction the product is going, the usability and overall feedback about it, giving the company the chance to either take it all off, improve a lot or make any small changes that could benefit a lot to all parties.

The same companies sponsor Toluna for their service, for the latter to share part of the revenue with its customers. Group to which belong me and you.

A circle that is supposed to have all parties happy. However, the only ones seeming to be happy are the companies which are getting what they are paying for and Toluna.

Whether me and you as customers and the main labor force in the triangle turn out happy from this circle, that remain questionable to this day.

Customer Service of Toluna

When talking about Tolunas’ customer support, I have no choice but to give you some bad news. It is true indeed, that they used to have a highly effective customer service, especially during the first few years, but that seems to be lost in time.

For the sake of facts, there are numerous customers complaints and very low ratings on their customer support recently, stating that they got no support in the issues.

When a well-known brand customers’ support team doesn’t support its customers, the image of the brand is certainly in danger.

Is something wrong with Toluna?

The list of common complaints on Toluna includes as below.

  • Big Time for Little Money – You ought to spend a pretty long time in order to make the slightest withdrawal on PayPal or any gift with points you manage to earn.
  • Slow Withdrawal Process – It takes an enormous amount of time for the order to be completed for you to have your gift in your hands or iWallets. Several customers have reported to wait up to a MONTH for the gift card. That’s way too slow, isn’t it?

  • Interesting. 17 years is a long time, so that seems like it must have some good business practices. Do you know if this is in the United States? I’ve never heard of it.

  • Over the years I have participated in survey sites and whilst they used to be sort of OK a few years back, nowadays they make it so damn difficult to earn above the minimum threshold. It takes far too much time just to make a little money and like you mention, focusing that energy on something constructive can pay massive dividends 1 or 2 years down the road. Interesting article and thanks for sharing.

    • Hey Mick!

It is true indeed that the times when survey sites were worthy giving your time to are lost and gone. Even though the nowadays programs promise a lot in your “spare time”, you definitely won’t get the value you are paying with a high price – your time.
Investing into a stable and reliable business opportunity of your OWN, is by far the best choice one can do when planning to make money online.
Glad to see you’re in the right path already.

Thanks for dropping by and your comment.

  • I was grabbed by the fact that Toluna is free to join however finding out that they have bad customer support I was turned off because it may end up being deemed a scam while i still think it is not.
I have been looking for survey on line and this review was very informative to me.
Do you know if I can use it as a South African?

    • Hey Thabo!

Glad to see that you trusted enough to check on my review before joining Toluna.
Even though they have very low-performing customer service, Toluna is surely not a scam. I promise you of that.
You can also it from South Africa, and there are very few countries unable to access. South Africa is not one of them though.

Thank you for dropping by and leaving a comment. I would love to help you in any other question you may have on Toluna or any other online survey site.

  • Hi Heku, interesting information about Toluna. I’ve never heard of it and to be honest I’m glad I’ve never wasted my time using it. Sounds like a lot of work for little rewards, and I don’t trust anything that doesn’t have decent customer service. That just makes life stressful when you have a problem and goes to show that they only care about making money from you.

It’s great you are encouraging people to join the Wealthy Affiliate platform where they can actually spend their time wisely and create a long term business for themselves with nobody to answer to. It really is an awesome platform with easy to follow training and I cannot recommend it highly enough 🙂

    • Hey Stefanie!

That’s one of my main goals of the site, actually. As I believe there are some websites, programs or services, however we want to call them, that are not completely legitimate yet a waste of time. Like a large black hole. What I don’t like about them is that they promise huge profit to the customers, which is not true at all, but plain deception. I’ve even read reviews like” How I made $1000 a month from Toluna”, with the possibilities for that to be true is 1 out of 100 considering how much the surveys pay and how much time they need.

Therefore, Wealthy Affiliate is another level and an absolute true way how to make money online. I am happy you already know that and I see your business up and going pretty well. Thanks for your comment, Stefanie!
